I've decided that for this blog, I'm going to be honest. If anyone reading this does not wish to see my true beliefs about something, then I would suggest that they not read this. This doesn't mean I'll be revealing deep dark truths or anything, just that I'll be blunt about my opinions about people.
Anyways, I recently went to California with my girlfriend, her sister and her mother. They are all incredibly agreeable people and the trip was quite tolerable on the way down. Unfortunately, California is hot. Very hot in fact. I live in Oregon, where it is quite rainy and cool, even during the summer. I'd only experienced such hellish heat in one other place. Nevada. I hate Nevada. The sad thing is that the heat wasn't even the worst part. I generally dislike people's families. They always seem to include quite rude people, and the occasional shady cruel person. I found just about everyone directly related to my girlfriend to be kind and wonderful. The exception being her grandmother. At first impression, her grandmother appeared to be the normal sort of grandmother, almost stereotypical in her attitude. This facade was later dashed by her crabby and obstinate outbursts. She would argue illogically, believing herself fully in the right. If there is any argument I cannot stand, it is one based illogicly, with no chance of change in opinion.
Regardless, this trip has been enjoyable if only for the ability to spend time with my girlfriend. I'm glad to be back in Oregon (though not quite home) and am looking forward to the rest of the summer.
